About Sara
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland and I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 2009. I worked in behavioral health in a nursing home setting for three years before I took a break to start our family. I now work part time, virtually since the pandemic. I work with adults who are struggling with a variety of mental health, emotional, and life issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and loss. I consider myself a client-centered therapist, focusing on helping clients process with the goal of learning how to navigate their difficulties and regulate emotion in healthy, productive ways. Building rapport with clients is central to the therapeutic process. I find utilizing humor is often a tool I incorporate in to in my practice, as well as gathering a well-rounded idea of a client’s daily life. Discovering how a client is functioning in the various facets of life sheds light on how and where to focus in helping improve quality of life. I believe attention to our mental health and wellness is key in leading healthy, productive lives. My goal is to help clients set themselves up for success and to help them strive to live life at their fullest potential.
